Brand & Social Media Manager
New York City | Hybrid | Contract-to-Hire
Compensation: $4,500–$6,000 per month, depending on experience. This is a contract-based, hybrid role with an anticipated part-time commitment that may fluctuate around event weeks.
Normal New York is seeking a highly creative, entrepreneurial, and culturally connected Brand & Social Media Manager to help shape our growth.
We're looking for someone who understands how brands build communities, how content drives culture, and how real-world experiences translate into digital storytelling. We would love you to be equally excited by fashion, retail, design, vintage, events, and internet culture.
You'll work directly with the founder to help shape how Normal shows up across social media, partnerships, events, email, and brand communications.
About Normal
Normal New York is an independent retail and design company creating thoughtfully curated marketplaces, experiences, and creative programming that support independent businesses, designers, artists, vintage dealers, and emerging brands.
Over the past three years, Normal has transformed spaces including Barneys New York, One Hanson Place, Manhattan Mall, and Union Square into destinations for discovery while partnering with organizations and brands including eBay, Columbia University, and Coterie.
What You'll Do
• Own and manage Normal's content across Instagram, TikTok, Substack, Mailchimp, and emerging platforms, create daily content across platforms and formats
• Build and maintain social content calendars across all channels
• Create graphics, carousels, marketing assets, event materials, and promotional content
• Our preferred candidate must have strong graphic design skills
• Edit short-form video content including Reels, TikToks, vendor features, and event recaps
• Be on-site during our events and capture and publish real-time content during events, activations, and partnerships
• Help produce and grow our editorial and long-form content initiatives
• Assist with weekly newsletter creation and audience growth strategies
• Create partnership decks, sponsorship presentations, and marketing collateral that support Normal's business development efforts
• Support community engagement and lead VIP outreach and invitations
• Support partnership campaigns, sponsorship activations, and collaborative marketing efforts
• Track performance metrics and identify opportunities for audience growth and engagement
• Help shape and evolve Normal's visual identity, tone of voice, and content strategy
You Might Be A Fit If You...
• Have 3- 5 years of relevant experience preferred, though exceptional candidates from non-traditional backgrounds are encouraged to apply
• Have 3- 5 years relevant experience managing and growing social media channels for a brand, creator, publication, or community
• Have a strong eye for design, aesthetics, and visual storytelling while attuned to our existing brand identity
• Can create strong graphics, and edit content efficiently without sacrificing quality
• Have experience with creation and publishing content on Instagram, TikTok, Substack, and Mailchimp
• Have strong writing and editorial skills
• Are highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Are passionate in fashion, vintage, retail, design, culture, and events
• Naturally spot trends, creators, brands, and cultural moments
• Bring ideas, not just execution
