Union Square Residency
The Union Square Residency marked a defining chapter in Normal's growth and a bold evolution of our event model. Over five weekends spanning three months, we transformed one of New York City's most important neighborhoods into an ever-changing destination for independent retail, vintage, design, art, and creative entrepreneurship.
Unlike a traditional show, the Residency introduced a rotating format with entirely new vendor lineups each weekend, creating an ongoing platform for discovery while providing hundreds of independent businesses the opportunity to connect directly with thousands of shoppers in the heart of Manhattan.
The series became one of our most impactful to date, earning editorial recognition from Vogue and demonstrating the growing influence of community-driven retail experiences within New York City's cultural landscape.
The Residency culminated in a landmark partnership with eBay, which joined as the official sponsor of the closing edition. Together, we celebrated independent sellers across both physical and digital commerce through curated programming, special activations, and a live broadcast hosted by our founder Lale Boz and Stacy London. The partnership represented an important milestone for Normal, highlighting our ability to bridge emerging brands, vintage sellers, global platforms, and engaged consumer communities under one roof.
The Union Square Residency reinforced Normal's position as a leading platform for independent businesses while proving the power of long-form retail experiences built around community, creativity, and meaningful connection.
